Danish daisy jewellery gained widespread popularity after the Danish royal family commemorated the birth of Princess Margrethe in 1940 with a daisy brooch, prompting silversmiths across Denmark to produce similar floral designs throughout the mid-20th century.

These pieces typically utilise sterling silver, often with a gold wash known as silver gilt or vermeil, combined with vitreous enamel applied to hand-textured or engine-turned metal surfaces to create vibrant, translucent colour.

Authenticity is usually verified through makers marks, silver purity stamps such as 925S, and country of origin hallmarks stamped on the reverse side of the metalwork.

These versatile pieces can be pinned to lapels, coat collars, scarves, or hats to add a subtle touch of mid-century elegance and colour to contemporary outfits.

Keep enamel jewellery away from harsh chemicals, perfumes, and ultrasonic cleaners; store them in soft pouches and clean gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth to protect both the delicate glass coating and the underlying metal.
