Daisy jewellery gained widespread popularity in Scandinavia during the mid-20th century, notably immortalised when the Danish royal family celebrated the birth of Princess Margrethe in 1940 with a daisy pin, inspiring a prolific production era through the 1950s and 1960s.

Authentic pieces from this era are typically crafted from sterling silver, frequently treated with a layer of gold wash known as silver gilt or vermeil, and hand-finished with opaque vitreous enamel to form the coloured petals.

Authentic pieces often feature maker marks, standard silver purity stamps such as 830s or 925 sterling, and distinct guilloche texturing or hand-applied enamel work that separates period items from modern mass-produced reproductions.

This piece can be pinned to lapels, coat collars, or silk scarves to introduce a touch of retro mid-century charm and colour contrast into modern outfits.

Enamel is sensitive to harsh chemical dips, ultrasonic cleaners, and abrasive cloths; therefore, items should be cleaned gently using a soft, damp cloth and stored away from direct sunlight and humidity to protect the metal gilt and enamel finish.
