In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This antique Ersari Beshir main carpet originates from 1860 in the Turkmen style, constructed from hand-knotted wool in terracotta red, navy blue, cream, orange, green, and golden yellow tones. The field displays three vertical columns of repeating octagonal gul medallions interspersed with smaller cross motifs, framed by geometric borders of diamond lattice patterns and repeating octagonal bands, complemented by original four-cord goat hair wrapped side cords and kilim remnants at the top and bottom. The wool pile is mostly good while showing visible wear, a few old repairs, and insect damage. It measures 318 cm high and 229 cm wide. In a contemporary home, this rug is suited for placement on the floor of a gentleman's library, living room, study, or hallway as a central floor covering. It functions as a decorative textile foundation beneath furniture groupings, adding warmth and traditional pattern to interior spaces.

Ersari Beshir carpets are traditional hand-knotted textiles woven by the Ersari tribe along the Amu Darya river valley in Central Asia. They are renowned for their rich terracotta red tones, geometric octagonal gul medallions, and intricate border patterns influenced by neighbouring weaving traditions.

These carpets are traditionally crafted from hand-spun sheeps wool for both the pile and the foundation. Natural plant and mineral dyes, such as madder root for deep red and indigo for blue, provide the characteristic colour palette.

Authentic Ersari carpets feature asymmetrical knots, a flexible handle, and natural colour variations known as abrash. Examining the reverse side reveals clear knot structure and hand-bound selvedges rather than uniform machine stitching.

A red tribal carpet adds warmth, texture, and historical weight when paired with modern minimalist furniture or classic leather upholstery. Position it as a focal anchor in a living room, library, or dining area to ground contemporary architectural elements.

Vacuum regularly without a rotating brush bar to prevent fibre pulling, and rotate the carpet annually to ensure even wear. Clean spills immediately by blotting with a damp cloth, and seek professional specialist hand-washing for periodic deep cleaning.
