Art Nouveau jewellery flourished between 1890 and 1910, defined by flowing, organic lines, asymmetrical whiplash motifs, and a focus on natural forms inspired by plants and insects.

Jewellery from this period frequently combined yellow gold with platinum-topped settings to enhance the brilliance of diamonds, alongside pearls, emeralds, and sapphires.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut stones such as old European or old mine cuts, hand-carved precious metal settings, and characteristic makers marks or period hallmarks.

Pairing antique rings with sleek, minimalist modern attire allows the intricate craftsmanship and organic curves of period pieces to stand out as statement focal points.

Regular professional inspections of the claw settings are essential, alongside gentle cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners.
