FAQs

Chinese bronze censers have a long history rooted in ritual practices, often used in temples and scholars studios for burning incense during meditation or ceremonies.

These pieces were traditionally cast in bronze or brass using the lost-wax casting technique, frequently enhanced with intricate hand-chased relief work and patination.

Authenticity is determined by evaluating the quality of the metal casting, natural patination, wear patterns, and stylistic markers consistent with the purported era of production.

Such pieces function well as sculptural objects on a mantelpiece, bookshelf, or side table, adding a layer of historical texture and global craftsmanship to contemporary spaces.

Bronze should be dusted gently with a soft, dry cloth; chemical cleaners and abrasive polishes must be avoided to preserve the historical patina.
