The Edwardian period, spanning from the reign of King Edward VII until the First World War (19011914), is characterised by delicate, intricate craftsmanship, often featuring platinum and yellow gold settings designed to mimic lace and garlands.

Jewellery from this era frequently combined yellow or white gold with platinum, which was newly utilized for its strength, allowing for fine, lace-like metalwork that securely held diamonds and precious gemstones.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-cut diamonds such as old European or old mine cuts, distinctive hand-engraved details on the band, and period-appropriate hallmarks indicating metal purity.

An antique ring pairs effectively with contemporary minimalist daily wear or can be stacked with modern bands to create a sophisticated, eclectic contrast between old and new design aesthetics.

Antique rings require gentle cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners or abrasive chemicals that can damage fragile settings or old cut stones.
