A backless seat with a gilded frame, made for the formal drawing room and salon, and later for ordinary Victorian and Edwardian rooms as footstools, window seats and piano stools.
One-offs from the archive include a rocking gilt gout stool, a stool on horn castors, and an enamelled gilt metal Islamic stool.
