The Earring Curator has dated this piece to the 1880s.

• Condition: Excellent antique condition.
• Fixing: Posts and nine-carat gold butterflies.
• Hallmarks/stamps: Each earring is stamped on the back with the kitemark used by the British Design Registry which enables us to date the earrings quite precisely. The stamp shows this design was registered on 28 January 1879 and as the mark was discontinued five years later we know they must have been made between 1879 and 1884. They have been professionally tested to confirm they are nine-carat gold, with a lovely antique colour somewhere between rose and yellow gold.
• Era: Victorian.
• Size: 3 x 1.7cm.
• Weight: 3.4g; the earrings are hollow so nice and comfortable to wear.
