Fine Victorian Sterling Silver Tankard London 1864

A very fine and beautifully decorated Victorian silver tankard.  Baluster shaped with ornatecircular foot and pretty handle decorated with arcanthus leaf to the top.  The engraved decoration around the tankard is exceptionally stylish  with engraved monogram on one side.   The interior is gilt washed which gives a superb golden glow.  On the base are the very clear and crisp hallmarks for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1864, Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the maker''s mark for the silversmith:  Edward & John Barnard.
 
 
 
Superb mug, in great condition - would make a lovely gift for a new baby or special birthday!
