Description

A stunning rare high quality solid silver communion wine jug (aqua for mixing water with wine). It is unmarked but tests as high grade silver, (possibly commission made by a local artisan). I would date it to c1880-1920. It has been beautifully made with the lid being engraved with leaves and inset with a gem stone - possibly a Moonstone. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. It measures approx. 3 inches (7.6cm) tall by 2.25 inches (6cm) across including the handle by 1.75 inch (4.5cm) wide and weighs 82 grams. A very good quality well made clean piece.
