Description

A wonderfully modelled and very high quality silver koro with shakudo patination and shakudo inlaid gold eyes .

Standing cranes are reasonably common , but a seated crane koro is a rare subject. The workmanship is excellent , it is signed on a seal, but we have been unable to trace the artist . It is very substantial , weight of 1lb 7 ounces .

A quite attractive and tactile Meiji period sculpture .
