C1750 Beautiful English Sterling Silver Snuff Box Georgian Antique 50g

Description

A beautiful Georgian English antique solid sterling silver snuff box. It is hallmarked with only a makers mark so pre dates the Kings Head duty mark of 1784. I would date it by its design and type of hinge to c1750-1760. It has been superbly designed being engraved with flowers. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It closes tightly and is clean inside. Some of the internal gilding has rubbed away but considering its age that is of little consequence. It measures approx. 2.25 inches (6.6cm) across by 1.75 inches (4.5cm) wide by over 1 inch (2.8cm) tall and weighs 50 grams. A very high quality rare piece.
