Rare American Sterling Silver Pomona Pattern Stilton Cheese Scoop C1880

Description

A superb rare American solid sterling silver soft cheese or Stilton scoop. It is hallmarked STERLING along with the makers mark Towle and the retailers mark. It dates to the 1880s. It has been superbly designed with the handle decorated with what is termed the Pomona pattern. It is in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. It measures approx. 6.5 inches (16.4cm) long by 1 inch (2.7cm) wide and weighs 30 grams. A beautifully made example.
