Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
There is a heart shaped empty cartouche in the centre of of the front. The hinged lid opens and closes well. When opened the inside lip of the case reveals the clear and crisp hallmarks for the Chester Assay office with a date mark for 1906 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker's mark is also clear: EJ Trevitt & Sons.

A wonderful card case, lovely to hold in the hand and representing the nicest of style and appearance of the Edwardian period.
Condition: In lovely antique collector's condition.
