Superb Silver Card Case Chester 1906 by E J Trevitt & Sons

A superb  Edwardian,  solid silver card case.  The shape of the card case and the engraving to both the front and the back is absolutely exquisite.   There is a heart shaped empty cartouche in the centre of of the front.  The hinged lid opens and closes well.   When opened the inside lip of the case reveals the clear and crisp hallmarks for the Chester Assay office with a date mark for 1906 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker's mark is also clear: EJ Trevitt & Sons.  

A wonderful card case, lovely to hold in the hand and representing the nicest of  style and appearance of the Edwardian period.
