A very fine and unusual silver case, probably a matchbook case, however, could be used for a multiple of items such as pills, jewellery, etc. In the style of a small cigarette case, the decoration is a most attractive engine turned design (giving a 3-d effect), with a small rectangular vacant cartouche in one corner. When the catch is pressed the case springs open, where hallmarks are visible to the inside for the Chester Assay office, date mark 1928, Lion Passant the silver maker''s mark: Blanckensee & Son Ltd.
The case is in beautiful condition - fabulous for a collector!
