Sarouk rugs originate from the Markazi province in central Iran, renowned for their dense hand-knotted wool pile, rich red or blue grounds, and intricate detached floral bouquet motifs developed primarily for Western export during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Traditional Sarouk runners are hand-woven using high-quality spun wool for the pile, knotted onto a durable cotton warp and weft structure using symmetrical or asymmetrical knots for longevity and strength.
