Impressive mid 19th.c. mahogany library bookcase c.1860. Breakfronted and (quite unusually) glazed both top and bottom), the taller upper sections each fitted with three adjustable shelves (internal depth 12"/9") over a deeper base with single adjustable shelves (internal depth 18"/15½"). Handsome uncluttered design in particularly well figured mahogany. Crisp flared cornice with a flame mahogany veneered frieze. Straight glazing bars, deep thumb moulded edges to the base and plinth. Solid mahogany sides. Good quality original brass hinges, locks and latches. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Keys supplied. Separates into four pieces plus cornice for delivery.
