Description

A Chester hallmarked antique Victorian sterling silver Sovereign case which has been designed to take Sovereigns and half Sovereigns. It has a circular body with engraved decoration to the front and back with a push button at the top to open the case. There is also a ring at the top so that it can be worn if so desired. Once opened, it reveals two spring compartments, which are still in good working order, to house Sovereigns and half Sovereigns. This design is extremely unusual and would make an interesting addition to a collection. It weighs 24 grams.
