Antique Hester Bateman Sterling Silver Bright Cut Sugar Tongs C1780s Rare

Description

Beautiful rare English solid sterling silver sugar tongs. They are hallmarked with the lion passant and Kings Head duty mark the Lion Passant mark and the makers mark of Hester Bateman, these marks were used c1780s. They have been beautifully designed with a bright cut pattern and acorn grips, unusually engraved with initials on the inside of the arm and on the cratouche. They are in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. They measure approx. 5.5 inches (14cms) long and weigh 32 grams. Superb unusual examples.
