The Silver Squirrel has dated this piece to the 1880s.
Grady moved to Australian in 1880 before moving to New Zealand where he made and retailed top end pieces. They have an unusual design and are in super condition being free from dings splits chips cracks and repairs - the ends N or Z are slightly out from being perfectly straight. They measure 3.25 inches (8cms) long by 1.5 inches (3.6cms) wide/tall and combined weigh 85g. Super quality very rare examples.
