The Silver Squirrel has dated this piece to the 1900s.
It also has English import marks for Birmingham 1906. It has been superbly designed with the centre being embossed with the image of a cherub kissing a lady, the rim embossed with roses. It's an image from a painting by Willem Martens known as Loves Kiss amongst other titles which may symbolises a maiden dreaming of love or being touch by Cupid. It is in superb condition being free from dings, splits, holes and repairs. It measures approx. 5 inches (12.8cms) across and weighs 50 grams. A beautiful piece.
