A nicely and crisply engraved Victorian, solid silver single sovereign holder case with a loop for attachment. The engraving consists of a lovely leaf design, set around a shield shaped empty cartouche in the centre, with overall engraved decoration to the back. Spring loaded, the case works perfectly and is in great condition.
The hallmarks, seen underneath the lid, are worn, however, can still be read as Birmingham anchor mark, Lion Passant and the lower case b for 1901. The makers marks are J H.
