English Solid Sterling Silver Seal Top Apostle Spoons Antique 98g Georgian 1750

Description

A beautiful and very interesting pair of early English solid sterling silver serving spoons. They are hallmarked with 18th century Georgian marks of 1740-1750 shape, which have been erased and replaced with hallmarks for Sheffield 2004 - note they have plannished bowl backs so I suspect they had to be re-hallmarked because they have been partially reworked. They been superbly designed having cast seal top terminals decorated with birds. They are in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. They measures approx. 7.25 inches (18.5cms) long by almost 2 inches (4.8cms) wide and have a combined weight of 98 grams. Beautifully made very interesting examples.
