Edwardian jewellery, spanning from roughly 1901 to 1915, is characterised by delicate, lace-like platinum settings, millegrain detailing, and the prominent use of diamonds and pearls to achieve a light, airy aesthetic often termed the garland style.

Master jewellers of the Edwardian era frequently paired emerging platinum fabrication techniques with traditional silver-topped gold, incorporating natural pearls and rose-cut or old mine-cut diamonds.

Authentic pieces often feature hand-wrought platinum or platinum-topped gold settings, delicate millegrain edges, hand-cut diamonds with irregular facets, and period-appropriate C-clasps or trombone closures.

These versatile pieces can be pinned to modern lapels, velvet ribbon chokers, or displayed inside glass shadow boxes as miniature works of art on a bookshelf or mantelpiece.

Pearls are organic and sensitive to chemicals, perfumes, and cosmetics; they should be wiped with a soft cloth after wearing and stored separately from harder gemstones like diamonds to prevent scratching.
