Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Karabagh rugs originate from the Southern Caucasus region, known for their vibrant colour palettes, bold geometric designs, and frequent use of repeating floral or boteh motifs inspired by both Persian and European traditions.

These textiles are hand-knotted using hand-spun wool for both the pile and the foundation, dyed with natural plant and mineral dyes to produce rich reds, deep blues, and warm yellows.

Authentic pieces feature hand-tied knots visible on the reverse, subtle colour variations known as abrash, soft wool pile, and traditional motifs such as the repeating boteh or stylized floral borders.

A patterned antique runner creates visual interest in a minimalist hallway, entryway, or alongside a bed, adding warmth, texture, and historical depth to contemporary spaces.

Vacuum regularly without a rotating beater bar, rotate periodically to ensure even wear, address spills immediately with a clean dry cloth, and seek specialist wool cleaning services when required.
