A super quality rare Chinese solid silver menu or place name holder. It is hallmarked with a Chinese character mark along with the makers mark of Hung Chong who operated in Canton & Shanghai from c1860 to c1930, I would date this piece to c1890. It has been superbly designed and is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 2.25 inches (5.7cms) tall by almost 2 inches (4.7cms) across by 1 inch (2.6cms) wide and weighs 32 grams. A rare example.
