Description:

Here is a good quality English Georgian style open bookcase / bookshelf, constructed during the Victorian period, circa 1880, measuring 3ft 6” wide, with a lovely rich colour and in excellent original condition.  Incorporating single plank mahogany top, the front of the bookcase is decorated with corbels either side.  The bookcase includes three adjustable shelves with moulded fronts. The original wooden bars can be moved up or down to adjust the height of each shelf. The bookcase stands on a block moulded plinth.

 

This bookcase features a rich mahogany colour having been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop.  Therefore, the colour and patination are of an excellent standard, along with age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

 

Condition Report:

Here is a good quality English Georgian style open bookcase / bookshelf, constructed during the Victorian period, circa 1870, measuring 3ft 6” wide, with a lovely rich colour and in excellent original condition.  Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item.  This bookcase features a rich mahogany colour having been cleaned and French polished by hand to a professional standard in our workshop.  All parts are intact, with no missing spindles are carvings.  The shelves and adjustable wooden bars are all intact (none are missing).  The bookcase stands on its original plinth and retains its original bracket feet and backboards.  The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
