Rare Victorian Sterling Silver S Mordan East Yorkshire Regiment Cigar Case 1887

Description

A museum quality rare English solid sterling silver cigar case. It is hallmarked for London 1887 with the makers marks being Sampson Mordan. It has been superbly designed being curved with a sprung lid and internal gilding. Most interestingly it has ben engraved with a crest and inscription relating to the 1st Vol Batt East York Regiment - you should be able to research this using the regiment's achieves. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 4.5 inches (11.7cms) long by almost 3 inches (7.7cms) wide by almost 0.75 inches (1.8cms) and weighs 142 grams. A superbly made museum quality piece.
