Unusual Silver Plate Mechanical Jam or Sauce Jar Pot 1920 Handle Opens Lid

Description

A superb unusual English silver plated and glass jam or sauce jar. It is marked with the makers mark of Hukin & Heath famous for working with Christopher Dresser and producing unusual designs of their own. I would date it to c1920-1940. It has been superbly made having a cut glass bowl and mechanical silver plated rim, lid and handle. To operate you simply pull the handle down which lifts the lid - genius. It is superb condition being free from dings splits chips cracks and repairs. It measures 5.5 inches (14cms) tall to the top of the handle by 3.5 inches (9cms) across and it weighs 306 grams. A beautifully made high quality piece.
