Description:
This is a good quality antique English Georgian style solid oak open bookcase, constructed during the George V period, circa 1920, with fine colour and in excellent original condition, measuring 3ft wide.
The bookcase consists of three adjustable shelves. The original wooden bars can be moved up or down to adjust the height of each shelf; although they are currently fixed in place at common positions (but these can be adjusted if required). The bookcase stands on a moulded plinth and retains its original backboards.
Condition Report:
This bookcase is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item. The bookcase stands on its original plinth and retains its original bracket feet and backboards. The shelves and adjustable wooden bars are all intact (none are missing). The bookcase has been wax-polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
Dimensions:
The shelf brackets are temporarily fixed at common positions in the bookcase. The shelf dimensions are detailed below. If you require these brackets to be removed, so that you can adjust the shelf heights, this is possible to do so.
