A lovely plate in very good condition. Minimal wear to the gilding or decoration. No chips, cracks or restoration. One tiny dab of gold paint on the back under the glaze.
 
Rockingham Porcelain is highly collectible as it is the only commercial pottery produced in the County of Yorkshire. The fine porcelain was made under the patronage of the Earls Fitzwilliam (indirect descendants of the Marquesses of Rockingham), at Swinton, near Rotherham between 1826 and 1842. The Wentworth crest is seen on this plate, and features a griffin, under which is written ‘Rockingham Works Brameld, Manufacturers to the King’. The quality of the porcelain had by 1830 gained international repute and attracted the attention of William IV,
