A most attractive silver cigarette box (would also make a lovely trinket box). Nicely proportioned 10.2 cm x 8.8 cm x 4.5 cm), the box is hinged on one side and when opened reveals a wooden lined interior. Beautifully decorated with a border around the edge of the lid in the wonderful Lindisfarne pattern, with the body of the box a nice plain polished silver. Hallmarks are visible on one side on both the lid and the base for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1964 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The silver maker''s mark is also visible: Adie Brothers Limited. Underneath the box is a leatherette finish. A super box, the Lindisfarne pattern is exceptional. Condition: In great condition. There are some very tiny surface scratches on the lid and a very slight indentation to the back corner where the hinge lies which we mention for accuracy (see image).
