Description

A fantastic pair of Georgian silver wig spectacles, hallmarked both sides for Birmingham 1804 with the stamped makers mark of PR. There are also small hallmarks either side of the nose bridge.

These spectacles have extending arms ranging from 11cm closed to 17cm fully extended, and would have been worn through the wigs of the era, tied with a ribbon through the circular loops on the ends of each arm to hold the glasses in place - glasses to fit wigs for all sizes and occasions!

The spectacles are in excellent condition, with light wear commensurate with age, the lenses still bright and clear. I have cleaned the glasses but not polished them so that the buyer may choose how they prefer them.

The spectacles measure 12cm across, the arms range from 11cm/17cm (as described above), and stand 3.5cm high.
