Victorian jewellery spans the reign of Queen Victoria (1837-1901) and is typically categorised into early, mid, and late periods, frequently featuring romantic motifs, heavy gold work, and symbolic gemstones.

Jewellery from the late Victorian era commonly utilised 9-carat or 18-carat yellow gold, silver-topped gold, and natural gemstones such as opals, diamonds, and garnets.

Authentic pieces often exhibit hand-carved details, traditional assay marks or hallmarks specific to the period, natural gemstone inclusions, and wear patterns consistent with age.

Antique rings can be worn as standalone statement pieces or stacked with contemporary minimalist bands to create a contrasting, curated aesthetic.

Opals contain a significant water content and are softer than diamonds; therefore, they should be kept away from harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, and sudden temperature fluctuations to prevent cracking.
