Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Qashqai rugs were traditionally hand-knotted by nomadic tribes in the Fars province of southwestern Persia. These textiles were woven from memory on portable looms, incorporating geometric symbols, native flora, and fauna that reflected the weavers surroundings and cultural heritage.

Authentic Qashqai textiles are crafted using locally sourced hand-spun sheep wool for both the pile and the warp and weft foundation. The yarn is traditionally dyed using natural plant and mineral pigments, such as madder root for reds and indigo for blues.

Authentic Qashqai rugs are characterised by fine wool construction, flexible handles, and distinctive design motifs such as central diamond medallions, stylized bird figures, and intricate multi-band borders. Slight spatial variations in the pattern and natural dye shifts (abrash) also indicate genuine hand-loom production.

A rich geometric tribal rug serves as an anchor in contemporary minimalist spaces, pairing well with light neutral sofas or mid-century modern timber furniture. Placing the rug on polished concrete or pale wooden floorboards highlights its intricate pattern and rich colour palette.

Preserve antique wool rugs by vacuuming regularly using suction only without a rotating beater bar. Rotate the carpet periodically to ensure even wear and light exposure, use a quality rug pad underneath, and consult a specialist restorer for professional dry cleaning.
