A rare Irish solid sterling silver christening / baptism cup or mug. It is hallmarked for Dublin 1950 with the makers mark being TW for T Weir & Sons, it is also marked WEIR & SONS. It has been nicely designed having cast Celtic beast handle and the cup has been engraved 'Sarah'. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures approx. 3.25 inches (8.3cms) tall to the top of the handle by 3.75 inches (9.2cms) across including the handle and 2.75 inches (7cms) excluding it by 2 inches (5cms) across the base and weighs 102 grams. A beautifully made piece.
