Fine Qashqai Rug, Persia, Circa 1890, 1.98m X 1.46m

This fine tribal rug has great wool quality and excellent weaving. The design is full of tribal character with the ubiquitous three linked medallions surrounded by myriad stylised floral ornaments on a sapphire blue field. Note the lovely apricot spandrels in the corner of the field. This rug has survived the generations in excellent condition, retaining a full even velvety pile. There is one small old repair, otherwise in original condition. Professionally cleaned and ready for immediate use.
