A superior solid silver Christening Mug in super antique collector''s condition clearly hallmarked Sheffield 1912, along with the Lion Passant indicating fine sterling, and showing the silver maker''s mark: James Deakin & Sons. The design features a handsome fluted pattern to the lower half of the shaped body and has a flared rim. It stands on an attractive pedestal foot and has a lovely scroll handle to one side. The interior has a light gilt wash finish, further enhancing the appearance. The Mug bears no engraving. The lovely fluid shape is perfectly balanced and feels nice in the hand . A superb piece of the finest quality associated with a fine maker.
