Description

A rare German good sized 800 solid silver bottle / flask. It is hallmarked with German marks and I would date it to c1890-1900. It has been superbly designed being cast in the form of Golden Pheasant. I do not know what purpose it served, it may have held snuff. It is in superb condition being free from dings holes and repairs. The tail has a small split or possibly was not joined at the time of making and the head as an old split - see final two photos. It measures approx. 5 inches (12.7cms) tall to the top of the head by 8.75 inches (22.3cms) wide beak to tail end by 2 inches (5cms) wide and weighs 174 grams. A top quality rare and very unusual piece.
