A late Victorian 18ct gold (tested) heraldic Seal Signet Ring. The ring bears the Crest of the Todd family, with an engraved Fox head with the words ''Vigilantia'' (in mirror image so can be seen in the correct form when stamped into wax).
The word Vigilantia translates from the Latin to ''alertness''. Vigilantia was also the sister of a Byzantine Emperor.
Hallmarks are worn on the inside of the band however, the ring has tested 18ct yellow gold.
An interesting signet ring and in great condition (some slight surface scratching commensurate with age and use and mentioned for accuracy only.
