A set of four very impressive cherub wall lights in gilt bronze ormolu.

Circa 1880s. These are very large and imposing.

Dimensions Height: 17.3 in. (43.95 cm) Width: 12.3 in. (31.25 cm) Depth: 4 in. (10.16 cm). " of the four are 2 inches smaller. They look very smart lit and displayed and they are the best of this type of French gilt bronze wall lights.

These have been recently rewired and are ready for immediate se.

French Rococo wall sconces are characterised by asymmetrical scrollwork, naturalistic foliage, and figurative elements such as cherubs or putti. Popularised during the eighteenth century, these wall lights, often termed appliques, were designed to reflect candlelight and add splendour to grand interiors.
