Description

A very attractive Victorian brass and leaded stained glass hall lantern, c.1890.

The lantern is four-sided with all sides boasting an identical stained glass design. The glass is wonderfully original with with visible bubbles and waves throughout. One of the clear panels to one side has a small crack (please see photographs) but this is not particularly obvious from a distance and does not detract from the piece. All other panels of glass remain in an excellent condition.

The lantern has a pierced brass gallery and apron with desirable verdigris to the interior which highlights the age of the piece and adds to its character.
