A very pretty and nicely proportioned silver Trinket Box in a lovely oval shape. Beautifully embossed to the lid with an empty cartouche in the centre and a frilled edge, also embossed sides with flowers and swirls and with a hinged lid that opens and closes nicely and when open reveals a lovely deep gold gilded finish. Hallmarks are clearly visible on the inside of the box for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1900 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, along with the silver maker''s mark: A J Zimmerman Ltd.
A lovely box, and a nice substantial weight. In great condition (there is some slight surface scratching the base, mentioned for accuracy).
