Sold by: Woodbridge Antiques

A thoroughly pretty and unusual Victorian silver Pepperette. The style is stunning with a baluster body and standing on a lovely circular wavy edge foot. The pull off top is delicately pierced forming a charming leaf pattern and the finial on the top is in the style of a flickering flame. Light engraving on the body is exquisite. There is an initial ''S'' in the centre on one side of the Pepperette and a vacant cartouche on the other side. Hallmarks are visible on one side for the London Assay Office with a date mark 1839, Lion Passant and silver maker''s mark: Charles Fox.
