A rare English solid silver novelty canoe. It is hallmarked for Chester 1898 with the makers marks being SILd for Stokes & Ireland Ltd (William Henry Stokes & Arthur George Ireland). It was most likely made as a pin cushion and could be easily re-stuffed. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs - faint line mark below the hallmark, see final photo. It measures approx. 5 inches (12.7cms) long by 1.5 inches (3.7cms) wide by 1.5 inches (3.8cms) tall and weighs 44 grams. A beautifully made rare piece.
