Set Of Four Silver Playing Card Suit Dishes

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: TJR Trading

This is a set of four late Victorian hallmarked sterling silver dishes in the form of the four suits from playing cards: hearts, spades, clubs and diamonds. They were made by A & J Zimmerman Ltd (Arthur & John Zimmerman) and assayed in Birmingham in 1897. Each dish is of simple form with a scalloped edge.

The ends of the diamond dish are slightly upturned. There are some small marks and light dents but otherwise they are in good general order, with wear commensurate to the age.
