Rare Large New Zealand Silver Plated Kiwi Bird on Jade Figure C1950s Animal

1940 - 1960
Description

A superbly modelled silver plate animal figure. It has been beautifully modelled being finely cast in the form of a Kiwi bird and has been mounted onto a polished New Zealand jade (Nephrite) base. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. All the silver plate is original and complete. The Kiwi measures approx. 2.75 inches (7cms) tall feet to head by 4.75 inches (12cms) long by 1.5 inches (3.8cms) wide and the base measures 5 inches (12.7cms) long by 3.75 inches (9.5cms) wide and the whole piece weighs 1520 grams. A very well designed high quality example.
