Edwardian 9ct Gold Reverse Intaglio Jack Russell Brooch

A wonderfully charming Edwardian Brooch. This brooch comprises a reverse intaglio carved rock crystal and features a Jack Russell/Fox terrier Dog. It is carved and coloured beautifully and the detail is superb. The brooch is in circular cabouchon form with a neat gold border around the edge and sits on a gold bar fastening pin, which works perfectly. The pin at the back is marked 9ct with maker''s mark: PPld (Payton Pepper & Sons Ltd).
This brooch is delightful and the craftmanship of the maker is apparent. A most appealing item of jewellery!
Condition: Overall in super condition (there is a minor nick in the gold around the setting which does not detract from the item and is mentioned for accuracy).
Measurements: Size of cabouchon 1.5 cm diameter width. Width of brooch: 8.8 cm
