Rare Edwardian Silver Retractable Seal & Wax Holder

A rare and unusual, Edwardian, solid silver retractable seal & wax holder. The holder has a slider button on one side which is retractable and enables extending the wax and retracting it back into the container. Unusually, the seal at the top has not been engraved. The surface is a lovely plain polished silver and full hallmarks are visible on one side for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1905 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The silver maker's mark is also clear: Grey & Co.

 

A lovely item would make a wonderful gift!

 

Condition: In good antique condition, with some light indentations on some of the polished surfaces, notably near the slider button. (see images).
