Woodbridge Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
Unusually, the seal at the top has not been engraved. The surface is a lovely plain polished silver and full hallmarks are visible on one side for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1905 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The silver maker's mark is also clear: Grey & Co.

A lovely item would make a wonderful gift!
