Silver Tea Strainer With Long Handle And Bowl Birmingham 1938 William Suckling Ltd

A superb solid silver tea strainer and stand, beautiful and practical. This nicely pierced strainer bowl has a simple stylised floral decorated handle. The bowl to catch residue drips is unembellished and of simple design, the strainer sits snugly inside the rim. Clear hallmarks are visible on one side of the bowl and again on the handle for the Birmingham Assay Office, with a date mark for 1938 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver, along with the silver maker''s marks for William Suckling Ltd.
 
A most attractive tea strainer and a very practical item. Would make a wonderful gift.
